Aquatech
Film underwater with a wide variety of cameras, both DSLR and mirrorless, and lenses using AquaTech's professional line of underwater housings. BL's partnership with AquaTech allows photographers and videographers to rent the professional underwater equipment they need for a fraction of retail costs.
All AquaTech products are shipped directly to you from Southern California. They are not shipped from BL HQ. This is so that every single item gets thoroughly inspected by specialists of underwater houses. They know the ins and outs of the seals, optics, and of compatibility. Wondering if your Canon camera and wide angle lens will work underwater? AquaTech will tell you exactly what you need to make it happen: contact@aquatech.net or +1 714 968-6946. All AquaTech rentals are shipped separately from the rest of your BL order (if you ordered non-AT items). They will have a return label just as our shipments do. All AquaTech gear takes at least a 2-day lead time for preparation. Please rent your underwater gear well in advance of your actual need-by date.
The crew at AquaTech are available for any questions regarding exact compatibility. You may also refer to their many reference charts located on their homepage menu.
First, you will need a camera house – for example, the AquaTech EDGE Pro Sony FX3/FX30 Underwater Housing, which is compatible with the Sony FX3 (without the handle). You will not only need that body housing but also a lens housing. If you are pairing your FX3 with the Sony FE 40mm f/2.5 G you'll need to refer to AquaTech's handy reference chart to find the correct lens port for that lens. In this case, it is the XF-55!
AquaTech makes specific lens ports for telephoto lenses, macro lenses, and even fisheye lenses. Dome-shaped ports are typically recommended for wide angle lenses in order to achieve the best image quality. Flat-front ports are better at managing water droplets, making them a great choice for combo under/above water scenes.
From swimming pool fashion assignments to capturing surfers from your boat, AquaTech greatly expands what you can do with your gear!
